Important Fitment notes
: While this is the most popular early Citroen ignition key, they occasionally used a very similar (but different) keys during this same period. The 62UC key for sale here has a flat groove along the LEFT side of the shaft, see pic #3. This 62UC ignition key's blade is 18mm long. Note: Citroen L62UC DOOR keys for the pre-1970 models are LONGER by 2mm (20mm) but have the SAME keyway as the 62UC DOOR key. After 1969, Citroen switched to a very different looking ignition key (see pic #3)
To get the right key for your pre-1970 Citroen ignition, check these things:
Your current key should be 18mm from tip to shoulder and have grooves running down the LEFT side of the blade (see pic #3)
My best advice is to only order this key if your current working ignition key has one of the following part numbers stamped on it: 62UC, C66F, RO5, CN2, RO4D, or C12. If you have no part numbers stamped on your current key, compare it closely to the pictures above as its grooves need to match EXACTLY both back and front. Another clue that this is the right key is if your current working key or ignition bezel has a stamped key code on it starting with "A3", "C3", or "D3". Feel free to send me a picture of your current working key if you have doubts, I'd be glad to assist in identifying what you have.
Check my other auctions as I will be putting up lots more interesting classic keys in the upcoming days!
I am a collector who purchases vintage lots of keys. If you have anything special available, I would love to hear from you. Please ask questions and look closely at both front and back grooves on the pictured key prior to bid as I want you to be happy with your purchase.
T
